JKM Lantbruk & Entreprenad is a high-output sheep operation lambing twice per year. With 750 lambs born annually, early-life survival is a top priority. Before switching to UMBIREZ, the farm relied on iodine for navel care — but continued to see unexplained losses of large, healthy lambs within the first few days of life.
Elisabeth began searching for a more reliable solution to protect lambs from bacterial entry through the navel and improve survival during the most vulnerable early hours.
After hearing positive results from other producers in Europe, she introduced UMBIREZ into her lambing protocol — and the impact was immediate.
Additionally, the family sought protection during tagging. They had previously seen issues and lamb losses due to bacterial entry during ear tagging, including issues with tetanus.
As a result, Elisabeth also introduced UMBIREZ into the ear tagging protocol, spraying the ears and ear tag before application. UMBIREZ proved highly effective for this purpose as well.
Elisabeth is clear: UMBIREZ is now a non-negotiable part of their lambing protocol.
